Cycling through the heathland brings you straight through Hoge Kempen National Park. There, vast pine woods and endless heathland landscapes can be found. During Cycling through the heathland, you will enjoy all of that nature thanks to the new connection between cycling junctions 550 and 551. You will cycle through the Mechelse Heide, one of the largest heathland areas in Flanders, of no less than 700 hectares. Undoubtedly, the highlight during this route is the almost 300 m long wooden bicycle bridge, a true beacon in the landscape. On top of the bicycle bridge, you will enjoy an amazing view of the natural environment.
